I came across a stellar performance by a modern Uke master just yesterday. John Mayes and HoosierUkes came to mind. But the rest of yous guys just might like this as well. I DO hope you've got something faster than dial-up...it took me about 45 minutes to download this. But it was worth it. If you like George Harrison tunes, you'll love this performance.
Only, strap on your seat belt!

Thanks Steve,
Performances like this make it easy to see the ukes are no toy instrument.

Thanks!

We had Jake at the midWest UkeFest the year before last. He made a surprise appearance.

He spent quite a lot of time with my students...it was really great. He is a true gentleman and uke master!

Here we are!

Hey Geoff,

Could you tell us who made that uke he's playing?
And, I've not seen one with a slotted headstock before now. (Ok, I'm not that familiar with ukes, and this might be quite common?) Anyway, that instrument just sings.

Steve-

It's a custom Kamaka. They just released his signature line. The link I have won't work and I'm being called to dinner. I'll try to send along more info asap.
